Is there any difference between a cabin bed and a mid sleeper bed?

We pride ourselves on being one of the only retailers in the UK that specialise in children's beds and bedroom furniture. We stock and sell a substantial range of children's beds and bedroom furniture made by brands you know and trust at prices to suit all budgets and requirements. Some of our best sellers are our range of cabin beds and mid sleeper beds.

There is a small difference between a cabin bed and a mid sleeper bed. A cabin bed can be described as a single bed which is raised slightly off of the ground with or without a little ladder or steps. They can also be referred to as a small cabin bed for this very reason. A perfect example of a small cabin bed would be the Pilot Cabin Bed in white made by Kidsaw.

A mid sleeper bed is traditionally raised higher off of the ground with a bigger ladder or staircase. They can also be referred to as a mid sleeper cabin bed or a childrens mid sleeper. A great example of a mid sleeper cabin bed would be the Urban Midsleeper 1 in white and birch made by Kids Avenue.

Both the small cabin bed and mid sleeper cabin bed are good choices for children who are ready for something cooler and more exciting than a traditional single bed but who are not quite ready for a high sleeper bed. Having said this, safety is our number one concern, and we, therefore, recommend that these beds should not be used by children who are under the age of six due to the fact that they are raised off the ground.

Another excellent advantage of the cabin bed and mid sleeper bed (other than their trendiness and appeal to youngsters of course!), is their space-saving ability. Space is a huge problem in almost all homes located in the UK in that unfortunately, we just don't have lots of it! Close your eyes for a second and picture your child's bedroom. It's most likely full to the brim with toys and other items that have been collected over the years. Well, if you purchase a cabin bed or a mid sleeper bed, you will be able to store all of these things in the space between where the mattress rests and the floor so that you don't have to look at them any longer!

Many of the cabin beds and mid sleeper beds have built-in drawers or shelving units to help with storage. Some even come with pull out desks ready for when your child needs to start doing schoolwork. You can even buy accessories such as a play tent to create the ultimate den for your child, a tunnel for them to get cosy and sleep under and a pocket tidy for even more storage. A good example of a mid sleeper bed with all of the accessories would be the Midsleeper with Purple/Pink Accessories made by Steens for Kids.
